I have 2000 Honda CR-V SE. On 4WD, all tires have to be the same, right? Except for emergency spare for short term use, right?

My CR-V was out of alignment before. As a result, there is uneven tread wear:
front 8/32 and 7/32, and rear 4/32 and 8/32.

Is that OK? They are all same brand. Or should I have it replaced?

Thanks!

if you have the money, go ahead and replace them all. if not, i would try to be a bit more conservative in your driving. the stock tires on our 2007 AWD were bad at 25K miles. we got lucky and my wife didn't have to drive too far to work and not too fast. we made them last to 30K. an alignment before the new tires made sure tire wear would be better this time around. good luck!

thanks!

Quick question: how does the 2000 CR-V's 4WD system work? Does the tread difference increase heat/wear on the 4WD system?
