Hello. I have a 2000 CRV with 5-speed manual transmission and AWD. I removed the axle to the rear wheels over 12 months ago to make it FWD. Twice this month the transmission disengaged from the engine as if I have pressed the clutch but didn't. I stumbled on a temporary fix by jacking up the front end so the front wheels were off the pavement and manually spinning the tire/wheel on the passenger front side. The FWD then worked as before. It happened again 2 weeks later and the same fix worked. The MT fluid level is fine.

Is this an indication that the transfer assembly is failing or is there another problem? Thanks in advance.
