I just finished a JDM engine swap and it runs and shifts fine, but it rolls when you put the transmission in park. I checked the shift cable and it's installed correctly. I didn't do anything to the transmission except remove and reinstall the axle shafts, replace the torque converter seals, replace the axle shaft seals, and replace the fluid. I did a search but couldn't find much information on the parking pawl.

Any ideas?

Odd.

But I wonder if there is a manual method of putting it in park which bypasses the cable.

This might help answer if it is an internal transmission problem or external and related to the cable.
