Hello,
I know I have an issue with an exhaust valve on #4 that's receded and won't adjust. I'm trying to determine if a rebuilt head will be sufficient or if the engine overall is worn. It has 177xxx on it - I've owned it since '03 and have been good about maintenance. It doesn't exhibit oil consumption other than what you'd expect.
So here are the numbers:
1-130
2-140
3-130
4-125 (the one with the bad valve)
These were taken with the engine warm but I didn't open the throttle. Should I re-do the test with open throttle?
These numbers seem low based on what others have posted regarding their compression tests.
Any thoughts?
Thanks for all input!
Lew
