ECM controls EVERYTHING under the hood.

It wasnt the motor that caused the issue, it was that it was replaced by someone that did not know how to replace the engine correctly and did not pay attention carefully to how everything was reassembled.

Chances are wiring is damaged, ground has come loose or the wiring has shorted out which has shorted out the ECM.

First thing I would check is all grounds coming off the wiring harness to the body, engine and transmission housing. Then check to make sure no wiring is pinched or otherwise damaged.

If all that is fine then ECM has gone bad, which then you need to check all harness connections both positive and negative cables and so on to figure out where the issue is that shorted out the ecm.
