I've looked at the diagrams, and it is clear that the door lock cylinder is supposed to be held with a wire clip that pulls out from the bottom.

As you can see in this picture from below the lock, the clip is not visible. I've tried to feel around and hook it with an angled awl, but there is nothing there.

Any ideas how to get this out?
I already have to replace the door handle because it was damaged while removing the linkage, so I don't mind drilling or cutting.

I also don't mind damaging the lock cylinder-- I have the replacement.

If I don't hear a better idea, I'll cut-off that tab from the lock cylinder which covers the nut, and then I figure the door handle parts can be removed and replaced. I'll need a pin if I can't find it in the assembly when I pull it off.
