Hey Guys,

I got a 2003 CRV EX AWD and I've been getting very bad MPG. I'm getting between 12 and 17. Even though this is all city driving, I would not expect it to be so low. I do not have bad or aggressive driving habits such as accelerating and braking fast.

I'm very new to cars on a whole so if there is any suggestions on what to do, please use layman words rather than technical terms. Much appreciated :)

1st question, any check engine lamp warnings? Does it stay on when the car is running? Also does it come on briefly when you turn the ignition forward to start the car?

2nd, how does it run in general? Seem low on power?

3rd, how many miles on it? When was say the spark plugs changed? Air filter? Oil and filter? Trans fluid?

Please let us know and we should be better able to help.

1. I do see a "MAINT REQ'D" light on. Other lights do come on briefly and then go off. I will attach a video of me turning the ignition and see all the lights coming on.

2. It does seem a bit low on power at times.

3. 58,816 miles on it.

Oil and Filter change: May 9, 2015 @ 52,900 miles
Cabin Air Filter change: June 19, 2015
Brake Fluid, Auto Trans Fluid, Diff Fluid change: Nov 9, 2013 @ 46,461 miles

Ignition video (will post another one when I get a chance)

When it is on:
