My rear Honda emblem got scraped off in the snow. Looking to replace. What should I use to remove the leftover residue and what adhesive is best to mount emblem?

I also need to remove CR-V emblem to remove paint. What's the best way to remove it without damaging the car or breaking the emblem?

I have had good luck removing emblems using a heat gun (or hair dryer). The heat softens the adhesive, allowing easier removal. If the emblem is still tough to get off, use dental floss or fishing line to saw through the adhesive backing.

Once the emblem is off, any remaining adhesive residue can be removed with a bug & tar remover or goof off.

For installation, use 3M emblem tape. You will need to trim the tape away from the letters (use a razor blade or Exacto knife).

Go to an automotive body supply store. They will probably recommend a 3M product made especially for adhesive removal.

Good tips in the post above. (Whew, now I won't need to type as much!) 😁

Don't obsess about 'saving' the extra emblem. Best just to replace.
