Not sure if this is the right place, if not please accept my apologies.

My daughter has a 2003 (Gen or Mark 2). The tailgate actuator has failed, the lock is fine so it has been diagnosed as the actuator that is at fault. This is the actuator for the tailgate, not for the glass. I cannot find one on EBay, breakers do not seem to have them and I wonder if anyone could give me a pointer where to find one. I have spoken to the local Honda retailer and have been quoted @£100 + VAT for the actuator and about £178 + VAT for the actuator and lock. This to me seems highly expensive. Just wonder if there is an alternative source anyone is aware of???
At the minute tailgate doesn't lock, is tied up internally as obviously central locking is not working correctly as a result. Obviously there is no keyhole to lock the tailgate on this model.

Any help or guidance would be greatly appreciated.

Many thanks in advance,

Roy

What auto supply stores are available to you? Searched for a used salvaged part on line other then Ebay?. Here in the US they are available at the local supply store for around $40.
Salvaged they run about half that.
