The size is 3/8" for the MagneFine filter for an '03. It may be labeled as a power steering filter, but it is the same. It is a different filter than the OEM one and doesn't replace it, but is in addition to it.
The OEM atf filter is on top of the tranny and is sort of a pain to replace. The MagneFine filter is usually installed on the return line from the atf cooler coming out from the bottom of the radiator.
Plenty of writeups on this. Look below the Similar Threads header below these posts.

Whoops, I was thinking of an '03 Odyssey so the info I gave you may not be correct for your CRV.
I am NOT familiar with the atf filter on your '03 CRV.
You will have to do more searching, Sorry.

I believe that filter is located near the bottom of the radiator, on the engine side.

After some searching I 'think' you can replace the OEM filter with the MagneFine , but the MagneFine is around 1/2" longer and you may have to use a zip tie to secure it. AFAIK, it is the 3/8" barb one.

The OEM one is here: http://www.nextdayauto.com/2003-honda-cr-v-auto-trans-filter-genuine-w0133-1934907.html , but I believe the MagneFine would be the better choice.

Make SURE you have the flow direction correct!!
