Just bought a 2004 CRV automatic EX for a trip to Alaska. Halfway on our trip the engine light came on. After reaching the nearest town found it t be 1457 emissions code. Can someone please tell me if this NEEDS to be fixed or if it's just an emissions issue that we won't pass and maybe less mpg? We are on a contract here in Alaska for 7 months and then will need to head back to the US after so the trip is very long and very rough for those not familiar and very desolate especially when it comes to mechanics. We will fix the CRV once back to the states but as of now our $ flow is very low. Can this issue damage the car further if not fixed and then driven that far in those extremes? We will not be driving much here with it. I had an 01 Accord with the same error code and 4 different shops had 4 different opinions on whether or not these codes actually need "fixed". Any info would be MUCH appreciated
