I'm new owner of 2004 CR-V, 34,000 miles, perfect except rusty stamped metal wheels. Before I go to a recycler, I'd appreciate anyone's experience in putting other Honda model alloy wheels on this CR-V. I'm running the stock tires on the 6" wide rims, 15 inch 5 lug of course. I'd hate to shell out $$ to find I bought rims too wide, for instance. I've read the comparison charts RE lugs, bore hole, etc. 'Just thought you mighta done this swap before. Thanks from Sacramento

You could check tirerack.com, they have a lot of good choices. Otherwise, you cold go to one of the companies that sell refurbished OEM wheels like www.wheelsandcaps.com. Here is a link to the OEM 2004 wheels: http://www.wheelsandcaps.com/c-2283-oem-aluminum-alloy-wheels.aspx

However, if it were me, I'd wait for the tires to need replacing and go with a 16" OEM wheel from a 2005 CR-V. You can get a set for around $500, those with new tires, on a 2004 with only 34,000 miles would be a good combination. http://www.wheelsandcaps.com/c-2283-oem-aluminum-alloy-wheels.aspx

I have 16" Acura TL wheels on my '06 CR-V (see sig pic). Backspacing and fitment is spot-on.

Any 5 lug Accord, CR-V or Acura TL wheels from the late '90s to mid '00s should fit.

+++++++++++++

That said, here's some food for thought:

Have you ever thought of just refinishing your present wheels?
