Hey all, it's been quite a while since I've needed help with one of our CRV's, but I guess the time has come. My mom's '04 had the battery go bad a few days ago. I took a spare over, and the motor cranked fine, but the security "key" on the dash flashes. Seeing as I knew she'd be better off with a new battery I put one in it today....same thing. I've tried the "unlock, lock, unlock" trick, and "key-on for 10 minutes" trick, and neither worked. It does this with either of our original factory keys. Do you have a suggestion? Is there a different procedure?
Thanks

After a bit more research last night I decided to try the key-on trick again, but for 30 minutes. Worked just fine.

Ok, the problem has returned. From what I've read it's again having trouble reading the key, and the immobilizer is likely flaking out. The only place I'm finding it is partsgeek (other than surely the dealer, which I'm not about to pay the prices there. Is there another name for this?
