Hi everyone,

I have a strange issue with my 2005 manual transmission CR-V. I hear a high pitch whining sound from the gearbox area when driving with 30+ m/hr (similar to driving on reverse with high speed). I lifted my car and noticed that it is on 4wd all the time. I changed the rear differential fluid and manual transmission fluid hoping that it will solve the issue. Unfortunately, seems like the car is still on 4wd and therefore the high pitch whining above 30m/hr still present.

I am curious whether if there is any way that I could turn off the 4wd? or any other suggestions to disengage the rear differential?

Many thanks in advance.
