Easiest thing to do while you get your parts together is to remove the prop shaft. It will work fine without it.

Daughter was driving home yesterday and the car was making screechy, scraping noises.
On checking we have found that the prop shaft has sheared or broken off at the joint to the rear axle, with the two halves of the joint having come apart. The noise is the prop shaft contacting the retaining bar when the car was in motion.
Is there any quick fix for this, someone had suggested removing the prop shaft and having 2wd until she could get it sorted. Not sure that is a great idea. I am not very tech minded but would give anything a go (she only recently had it pass the MOT and has spent a ton of money on this car since her ownership).
Look forward to some hints in the right direction.
