2006 low beam headlight socket

Last week I lost the drivers side low beam on the CRV. No problem, have changed the other side within the past year.
I had dress clothes on when I pulled into the AutoZone, and the counter guy told me there were two different
bulbs available for my vehicle and he offered to pull the bulb for me so my nice shirt would not get dirty.
He unplugged the socket, pulled off the rubber boot and then ran into a problem. There was a cold wind blowing to boot,
so not necessarily comfortable. So after about 30 seconds of struggle I asked him if he had unlatched the wire bail
that holds it into place. He assured me he had, but still couldn't get it off. I told him I'd go home and work on it
inside the garage out of the wind.

He didn't unlatch the wire, but all the tugging and pulling on the socket didn't go all that well. When i got it out, the
plastic socket was sorta crumbling in my hand. Without checking, I decided that AutoZone would not likely have
the socket, and planned to go to the stealer next morning. I was prepared for what I thought would be an outrageous
price......but not $19.70. Ouch.

Anyway, with a new socket and a new bulb I'm back in business. I checked Rock Auto just now and they don't appear to
have the socket replacements, so maybe the stealer is the only game in town.

Thanks for info.

I'm having a similar issue on my 06, can you tell me what a stealer is, is it that you have a spare socket off another CRV?
Thanks, I'm new to owning a CRV. Thanks
I'm pretty sure by "stealer" he meant his Honda dealer. :D
