Hi, I have a 2008 crv Es automatic. I am getting an overheating smell, but the temperature gauge is reading just under the normal.
There does not appear to be any water leaking out anywhere.
Any help and advice very much appreciated

The smell is not near the exhaust is it? (right-rear) That symptom is common this time of year....

Not sure if it's just coming from the exhaust, as I smell it when I get out.
What causes that smell this time of year ?

Road debris coats the exhaust system and during damp weather (or extended trips) it can cause a smell.

This symptom happens mostly in cold/cool weather.
