We just bought our 2008 EX-L from my Mother-in-law. The car is in great shape with only 32,000 miles. The problem is she tore the antenna off on her garage door. The stem is gone and the base is broken broken out where the stem attached. Only a piece of wire is left sticking out of the hole of the base. I believe I need part number 39152-SWA-A13. I would like to know if this is a part that I can install myself? The local Honda dealer wants $206.00 for the part and $138.00 to install it. I found the part on line for $128.00 so I am thinking maybe I can install it myself. It may involve removing the roof liner which I am not sure how to do.

Any advice would be very much appreciated.

Thanks

No familiar with the antennae mount, but they do make other antennaes (hidden ones that may not be as powerful) that are pretty low cost and if you live in a city, it may be all you need.
Here is just one, but there are probably many more options out there: http://www.ebay.com/itm/Hidden-Antenna-FM-Radio-For-Honda-Accord-Civic-del-Sol-CR-V-CRX-Fit-Prelude-/171590050034?fits=Make:Honda|Model:CR-V&hash=item27f39060f2:g:HwAAAOSwYHxWGgHW&vxp=mtr

This site may lead you to a solution: http://mechanics.stackexchange.com/questions/9809/best-way-to-repair-replace-broken-off-cr-v-antenna if you keep searching.

Hopefully some other reader has fixed theirs and will post here with some real info. :)
