It's been a long time, but here is the finished product of my TL headlight retrofit. The retrofit was done by a local hid projector hobbyest. TL projectors are the largest bi-xenon projectors available and although our CRV's headlights are huge, there was a ton of custom work that had to be done to get them to fit in the headlight as well as the engine bay.

Here are a few pictures of the finished retro. These are just iphone pictures. When I wash my car I will take better pictures with my DSLR.

how about a shot of the beam pattern, please?

what was the price of admission?

how did you do the fogs? tint or por33?
I'll get that cutoff shot soon, it needs to be retweaked as the passenger side is adjusted a little higher than the driver side.

I'll pm you the price I paid, but my retrofitter is holding off doing other retros until after the holidays.

I installed PIAA ion yellow for the fogs. I also did a yellow film overlay so it looks yellow even when the car is off.

I have FX-R v3 kit and now its just a matter of actually having them done. still not sure if i should do it myself or have it done professionally

That looks awesome!! I want to do mine in the new year.. Saving up for it :) can u take pics if the back of the headlight in the engine bay? And how much was the cost to do this? Thank you!!
I'll get that engine shot soon. I'm just gonna post a rough out of pocket cost for me, everything including labor, parts, and a spare set of oem headlights was around $800. I was lucky and found some headlights dirt cheap.

I went with a local retrofitter. I bought all the parts and he made it happen. I chose the TL because it is one of the best bi-xenons out there. The only downfall to this beast of a projector is it's humongous size which requires a lot of modifications and your headlights will also need to be able to fit it. I assumed since our headlights are soo huge that it wouldn't have been a problem to fit one in. It still required a lot of custom work though.

vanz

looks good. thanks.

really like the yellow fogs
I really like the yellow fogs as well. They are nice and bright and visible from far away. Sets the car apart!

You'll like the FX-Rs, they really rock. I put them in the wife's 2010-V. I couldn't believe it ... she asked for them after seeing them in mine.

I still have the oems if anyone's int.

Did you buy an entire PIAA assembly for the fogs, or is this just a bulb swap? Would you mind posting the exact part number, or link to product? Thanks a lot!

I would say they illuminate a lot better than the stockers. I always had them on when I had the stock headlights since headlights were so piss poor. Improved foreground lighting...and people will definitely notice the yellow more than white since its uncommon so are more aware when you are around. I use it as a safety light more than for my own visibility since my TLs are crazy bright.

Thanks for the info!
One more question. I do like how the OEM fog lights illuminate the road. Would you say that the yellow ones illuminates just as well?

This is why it's sooooo worth getting the Ebay aftermarket Projector Headlights, and then you simply switch out the cheap projectors for the TL setup.

That's good to hear. The headlights are due in on Monday, and I plan to have the local shop install them.
