My iphone streams the ipod app and pandora through bluetooth. Both show artist & song info on the screen. I hand the phone to my daughter who is more than happy to press the thumbs up or down buttons on pandora (again, not connected to USB.)
I rarely use the USB because it freeezes up the screen.
My biggest gripe is that after connecting through bluetooth in my car, I have to reset the ring volume on the iphone when I get out of my car so as to not miss calls. This is REALLY annoying.
