Hey there folks,

I've found that I randomly get an odd eggy/fart smell when i really put my foot down in my new CR-V.
I bought it two weeks ago and I'm wondering what it might be?
Solution?

My wife thought I was farting...seriously (but, that's fair, I guess).

Thanks
Matthew

I think it is her farting and blaming it on you.

Seriously, sounds or smells like the catalytic converter.

I had a similar issue with an old SAAB 9000 that I drove a while back - though it was a helluva lot worse than this.
I had to get the catalytic converter replaced on the SAAB... I hope it's not that drastic.

Run it by the dealer, the cat may be going bad, the warranty on the emission components extend well beyond the 3 yrs / 36k and depends on the state. You should have a warranty booklet in the vehicle to refer to.

Yeah, I figured that would be the recourse.
Appreciate the input, everyone!

Thanks again.

Sometimes the gas companies add gas line antifreeze to their gasoline. That sometimes causes the sulphur smell coming from your car.
