Hi, We have less that 5500 miles on our 2015 CRV. Just visited our son at college. Drove 2:30 hours total round trip including a trip out to dinner in the middle.
Coming home everything was normal until less that a mile from home we heard a new noticeably loud groan coming from under the car. It seemed to fluctuate on its own, not with speed, acceleration or braking. It came on, got louder then quieter then louder, quieter etc. It was pretty loud at times and lasted about 45 seconds.I tried swerving left and right to determine if it was a bearing but no changes occurred. When we got home I touched each wheel and brake rotor. None were even the slightest bit hot.
Only thing out of the ordinary on the drive home was that I had to "panic" stop to avoid hitting a herd of deer.
What could this be?? Any thoughts?
Could it be the Propeller shaft? Wheel bearings? Heat shield? Transmission?

Thank you in advance for your input!

lol that's funny! Will check the panels tomorrow as a starting point. Was planning to do that but it was dark when we got home.
