I was shopping for compact SUV and I almost decide to get CR-V But When I test drive last weekend.
I've noticed that when I'm stopped and in gear, there is a noticeable vibration from the engine, I can feel it on handle and seat.
I tried with passenger side but still feel same.
Is this normal on CR-V ?

Happens every once in a blue moon on my 2015 crv touring. So of course it's not reproducable at the dealership. I believe I've read that it's the transmission.

Saw a you tube from Your Car Angel and this graphic says an improperly mounted radiator was to blame for this vibration. They issued technical service bulletins but would not issue a recall on this problem despite being aware of it.

Leave the climate control "on" and set the fan speed on lowest setting.
This will cause the computer to raise the engine idle speed slightly which eliminates the vibration.

Just checking in as we near the end of 2019. For quick history, I purchased my CRV in June of 2015 and had the very noticeable idle vibration, found this forum and posted my woes in this thread. Had all 3 fixes done (the dealership did the other 2 after I complained the 1st fix didn't make much difference) and have been living with it since. My CRV just past 60k and the good news is, if you can call it that, the vibration doesn't feel any worse over time & accumulated miles.

I often compare my 2015 CRV against my previous 2010 VW Tiguan as my reference point and while the VW Tiguan definitely gave a more refined, premium luxurious feel, with absolutely NO vibration whatsoever, I must give the win to my CRV regarding practicality and reliability. My Tiguan had several warranty claims before the 60k warranty was reached (a few minor ones, two major ones) and required premium fuel on top of dismal gas mileage. The CRV, besides this vibration annoyance, hasn't had any warranty claims, has far better fuel economy, has wonderfully huge & useful trunk area, and has been just simply a reliable family workhorse. So it's just a reminder to have perspective and appreciate what the vehicle does well to offset what may bother you. ;)

Happy Holidays!

After a thorough research, I have found the 2012-2014 the best years for the CR-V, because of the great K-24 engine, and the 5 speed auto trans instead of the CVT

Only on three occasions when parking our 2019 CRV Touring with 7800 miles in our garage the Parking Brake has automatically been engaged. Any ideas why this is occouring? Should I take it in for service?

2016 CR-V Touring with rough idle (recently purchased with 30k miles). Since this car is out of warranty, it seems I would need to pay to have the "fix" performed. Is the consensus that it is worth it? Has anybody paid to have this done? If so, what was the cost? Thanks.

If your problem is caused by the issues in the TSB you are not out of the warranty period. It fails under the 5 year 60 thousand miles warranty. I brought my 2015 to the dealer a month ago and and they re-did everything that was supposed to have been done two years ago in my old dealership in NY. The dealer in Florida was great and has a new customer because they treated me like I was actually an important long time customer.

Yes, 4 cyl vibe, may need a throttle body clean

2015 EX-L AWD with about 250 miles has the vibration at idle in D. It seems that when the rpms get too low (around 600 or so) the engine starts getting rough. I'm hoping it is a break-in issue that will go away as the miles rack up, although from what I've read on here it seems that it is just an inherent flaw with the CR-V. Perhaps that's one they are saving to fix on the next redesign...
I bought a 2014 CR-V and mine does the same. I’ve had an alignment, new rotors & balance/rotation done to it. It still rides bumpy & my steering wheel vibrates some. I’ve been wondering if it’s a CR-V thing too. Mine has over 110,000 miles & have had it for about 3 weeks.

According to the manual, the idle speed doesn't have to be checked until 160k, but yes, they can adjust it at any time. Ours idled pretty heavy when stopped at a red light, but a different oil and filter improved it a bit.

My wife's 2014 CRV has vibration at idle. IMO, it idles too low and it almost feels like its engine wants to stall.. And if one slightly steps on the gas peddle with other foot on its brake peddle (to raise its engine RPM 200 RPMs), its engine vibration instantly goes away. Thus, IMO... Its simply idling too low "at no load rest". Wish they had a physical adjustment screw to set it idle speed - like found on my snowmobile, lawn mower, etc. engines.... Guess that would be a too simple of solution.... LOL!

disconnect the negative battery cable and clean the throttle body soaking a lint free rag with carb.clean and key out of the car and push the plate open and scrub the bore and the plate , that usually fixes a low idle

there is a TSB 15-086 for the transmission shudder which may be the problem many are feeling in their cars.....I had it done on my 2014 CR-V EX-L because it hadn't been done by prior owner....because mileage was past the 8yr/80K warranty it cost me $170 at the dealer to get it done.....no vibration anymore....
