Hello...

I have noticed that when I start my CRV when its cold out, there is some black exhaust that comes out for a few seconds. This only seems to happen when its below freezing outside. Anyone else notice this?

I asked the dealer and they said it has to do with the left over emissions in the exhaust that gets pushed out on startup....but I am not really sure I believe that.

Anyone else?

Thanks

Dean

If you don't believe your dealer, who has a name and a reputation to protect, why would you believe what anyone here posting under anonymous names says.

For the same reason most people post questions on this forum...Because people in here may be experiencing the same issue and then I know its not something specific to my vehicle.

There aren't any "left over emissions in the exhaust pipe". The black smoke is from a rich mixture condition, the cause of ???
