Hi All

I was doing one of my first DIY oil changes, and when i removed the splash shield I found mysterious loose part resting on top of it: a plastic disc with a tube through the center that apparently dropped from somewhere up in the engine bay. How long it's been there, where it came from, and what it's for, I have no idea. I had not been noticing anything odd during recent drives, and when I finished the oil change, I drove around the block, and did not notice anything weird then.

Anyone have a similar experience?

I don't recognize that. Suggest stopping by the dealer to show them? Perhaps a tech could ID it for you. (Could be road junk but it isn't scuffed up, as if it were kicked up from the road.)

PS Props for doing your own DIY oil changes!:wrenchin:
