I got this message from my sister (who liked my 2017 CRV so much that she also bought one too): So this morning when I got home, my car just randomly wouldn’t shift into park. The manual only has instructions on what to do if it gets stuck in park- but those instructions didn’t work for my situation. Everything else seems fine. Took me forever to figure out how to have it sitting there without the battery getting eaten up. Had to leave it in neutral with parking brake on and finally figured out how to turn the radio screen off. I just spent over $400 two weeks ago to do all the 15,000 mile maintenance stuff on it.

Car is currently at the dealership.

Has this happened to anyone else before? Why would something like this happen?

Sounds like the gearshift button. Should be an easy fix by the dealer. IIRC there's a TSB... maybe a free repair?
Yes - you are correct. The dealership said it's a dysfunction with the shift button and replaced it.
Thank you for the thread!
