I was wondering if anyone has had/is having the same issue that I am having?
It started off with the driver side sun roof cover (mesh fabric) motor not rolling out to cover the roof. I would have to manually move the driver side clip which holds the sun roof cover to the front of the car while the left side would still motor work when I press the button to close the cover. Retracting the cover would work on both sides fine.
I got really frustrated one day and attempted to fix/determine the problem. I ended up breaking the driver side clip and the fabric cover rolled to the back and seems to be unattainable by hand. It's now summer in Ontario and blazing hot some times. I hate driving with the sun constantly frying my head. Does anyone know how this can be fixed? I'm the only owner of this 2017 Honda CRV Touring with approximately 100,000KM on it. I refuse to bring it back to the dealer, they constantly rip me off and I'm tired of the customer service. I brought it in for a recall when I believe it was still under warranty and they said it's a charge for the inspection and it's not covered under warranty. What a joke of a dealership. I've always been a big fan of Honda and this is my 5th Honda but after this I don't think I'm getting another Honda.
Hopefully one of your Canadian neighbors will step in and assist, as the panoramic roof is not available in the US. I assume you are referring to the shade cover on the full glass panoramic roof that is also over the rear seat? If so, I'm not sure what you even mean by the "driver's side cover". I have a pano roof on my Acura RDX, and there is not a separate cover for the driver's side independent from the passenger side...
Broken clip suggests you may only be able to source it from a Honda dealership, which in turn likely also means that only they are capable of fixing the blind/mechanism, unless you can find some sort of auto-electrician that may have a go?
Sorry, I forgot to mention I am in Canada, so I am referring to the panoramic fabric roof cover, not the glass sun roof. I refuse to take it back to the dealers, they've done nothing but rip me off... I guess I'll keep trying to fix it myself. Hopefully someone will post something on youtube.
Guessing you are out of warranty....that's unfortunate. I think the headliner is going to have to be removed to access the "sunroof casette". Once in there, any other damage can be identified and fixed
Oh dear I have also got the same trouble in my 2018 Honda CRV. Exactly same problem that you have encounterd. I am confusing what to do. Trying to go my dealer in sri Lanka. What have you done in your case. was it repaired?
I have a 2018 Honda CRV, the sunroof cover is not moveable due to broken slider clips, i dont know where to get them for purchase. Can someone advise where i can purchase the clips
I have a 2018 Honda CRV. One day when I tried to close the sunroof inner shade cover, the inner shade cover got stuck from 1 side. Now my sunroof closed but the inner shade cover can’t close it just hangs from only 1 side. Other side’s motor has separated from the inner shade cover so it’s only closing from 1 side
I have a 2018 Honda CRV. One day when I tried to close the sunroof sun visor, the sun visor got stuck from 1 side. Now my sunroof closed but the sun visor can’t close it just hangs from only 1 side. Other side’s motor has separated from the sun visor so it’s only closing from 1 side
