We have had 4 incidents with the windshield wipers coming on when it is not raining and then not being able to turn them off with the control. The last time I was washing the car while it was off and the wipers came on. I started and stopped the car a few times and the wipers continued to run. They finally stopped when I got home and turned off the car. Anyone else having this issue? The last time with the wipers coming on while the car was off has me concerned about running down the battery if it decides to do this when we are not around.

As I indicated in my post it was not raining and there was no moisture of any kind involved when they came on by themselves.(other than the car wash when the vehicle was off) Also turning the control to off did not stop the wipers which should override any automatic functions.

I was driving in the rain last night and the wipers came on in the Auto mode. When I pulled into the garage the wipers continued to operate even though the windshield was clear. I could not make them stop even when I put the lever in the off position. It sure seems like the auto mode overrides the off mode if the wipers first start in the auto mode. I need to test with the wipers starting in the off mode and spraying down the windshield to see if they come on with both the car running and the car turned off and then starting in the auto mode and spraying down the windshield to see if I can put the lever in the off mode to make them stop. I did take it to the dealer and they said that they could not find anything. They tried to blame it on having a non OEM windshield installed. I don't buy this as first the wipers should turn off when you put them in the off mode plus all of the other assisted driving options work fine with the non oem windshield. I did take a video of the wipers continuing to run after I put the lever in the off position for the next time I take it to the dealer.
