Agreed. Completely different fuel injection approach, parts, design integration compared to a 9 year old CRV.I would say that its because of the direct injection of these engines. too much carbon build up is making the injectors fail. IMO
My guess is that some early production gen5 CRVs used injectors with some tolerance issues in manufacturing by the 3rd party supplier, and we know Honda did change the spec on the injectors sometime in 2018.. but I don't think the part number changed, which would tell me they had a QA issue from the supplier and tightened specs to keep the supplier in line.
