Do yourself a huge favor when buying a new car. Get the info off the tires on it and research them before you buy. I learned a big lesson after this snow storm and first time driving a new generation CRV. My new Honda CRV Touring Edition came with Hancook Kinergy GT 265/60R18 tires which equated to, out of 1-10 scale:
4.9 Light Snow Traction, 2.9 Deep Snow Traction, 2.8 Ice Traction and an overall rating in snow of 3.5. The tire has a "Would you recommend rating of 2.4 out of 10. I am a Christian man or I would give it my rating. My next free day I am going to the dealership and I bet you they take these tires off this vehicle and replace with my choice. Promise, it will happen. Pretty embarrassing when this new vehicle will barely pull out of a level driveway with the first 6" of snow. I was unable to get to my daughter's house and was at first hammering the CRV pretty bad. I just traded a 2015 Ford Escape Titanium Pkg. 4 wheel drive for the CRV and that sucker would push snow 18" deep. Then I got home and did a thorough research on these Hancook tires and that explained it all. Worse OE tire ever. Next week these tires come off and will be ready for round two. I missed 3 things buying this vehicle, #1 a Touring Edition should have had rear sensors, it doesn't, no CD player, had to accept it, and 3rd the tires. Learned a lesson, never again. Will review again after I can these crappy tires.
