2018 Honda Lx vs Ex (2.4 vs turbo) question/opinion

I ended up buying a 18 LX model to avoid the O.D. and lack of heat issues. So far I am happy with vehicle overall. (power seats would be awesome). I wish Honda would have continued to offer the great features only available on the EX and higher models for the LX model. I was just curious if anyone else felt the same way, basically keeping the reliable 2.4l engine but still offering higher end features.

Not in a million years.
The lx resale is horrible at the mmc because all the dealer cheap lease deals flood the certified lots

The amount of perks for the minimal price for the ex over the lx was and is totally worth it.
No dilution here! Before of after the fix

Also theres a ton of these threads, you could have simply posted in those
DeadstockNYC, you don't have to be so rude. I agree for the money the ex is a better deal, but there are thousands of CRV owners that do have od issues. I just prefer the 2.4l engine but wish the ex features were offered. Time will tell if the turbo will hold up as well as the 2.4l.

Resale doesn't matter if you keep a car for 10+ years.....
I am trying to say I wish Honda gave the option of offering the EX in 2.4 and Turbo engine. CRV is a great vehicle and while I am happy with LX I miss the features offered on higher up models. Not knocking the turbo in any way, just was playing safe for now and sticking with the proven 2.4

I have a 06 with the 2.4 and a Standard Trans.
180,000 Miles--Runs like new.
Of course I do regular fluid changes,
Oil, Trans, Brake, Power Steering Fluids.
I only use Honda Coolant, Honda PS Fluid, and MOST Important--Honda Trans Fluid.
Hey I have power door locks. I have to move the seat myself,
I have AC and a Darn Reliable Car--I take that anyday over a Small Turbo Engine.
Yeah, Honda could offer more "Luxuries" with some cars but they don't.
The 2.4 is a Proven Engine and can last a Very Long Time.
I have only heard good things about the 2.4l which is why I decided to buy the 18 lx. But the power seats, led lights and safety features would be great. Or at least offered as a option to purchase separately. I hope to keep for many years and am actually more concerned about the cvt long term reliability than engine.

I wouldn't worry about the CVT. Honda has made a reliable CVT and there are plenty of high mileage vehicles with it now. My Civic has the CVT but only has 73k miles on it and I haven't had any problems. There is a guy on bobistheoilguy.com with a 2015 Civic CVT with over 222k miles and he said it hasn't given him any problems at at.
Personally, I prefer the LX. I have a 2016 LX and with the money I saved verses going with the SE or EX I was able to customize my car more to my liking. Power seats and a sunroof are nice, but I see them as things that could break down road.

Hello Matt in Kentucky,

I have a 2007 EX-L with navigation (talking) which I love. I have the moon roof ( don't use it that much ) and my seats are not powered but my windows are like the LX. The first CRV I test drove was an LX and I just loved it. But there was too much vibration in the wheel or I would have bought it. I was really bummed. It had two previous owners so I had no idea why the wheel vibrated so much.

My 2007 CRV was sitting in a neighbors garage and it worked out well since there were no issues.

Anyway, your LX sounds like a good car. Take some road trips and you two will bond and buddy up. The 2.4-Liter engine has certainly proven itself.
