Bought my new CR-V on March 1st, 2021; I live in Chicago and bought it in the suburbs.
2021 Honda CR-V
LX
AWD
Metallic Modern Steel
Power 1.5 T
Paid $28,565 OTD; also qualified for the 48 months 0% APR. They initially offered me ~$33,300 OTD which was pretty rough, even for my area. That price included a base selling price of around $27,500 + $3,000 in taxes/fees + $3,000 in dealer accessories (windshield protection plan, some sort of anti-chip paint coating, window tint, and all-season floor mats).
I ended up getting all of the accessory fees removed as well as a few thousand off base price... although the tint and anti-chip was already installed so I got to keep those anyway, and they left me the all-season mats despite removing the $600 they were gonna charge.
Here's the final price breakdown:
Car price: $25,470
Doc fee: $304
Sales tax: $1,870
County tax: $273
Chicago tax: $322
Registration/license/tag: $301
Other fees: $25
$28,565 OTD
I'm pretty happy with the price. By no means an amazing deal, but doesn't feel like a total rip-off, either, considering some of the extra fees and taxes in this area. I was in a bit of a hurry to buy the car (new job with a 2 hour commute by train vs a 45 commute by car... so yeah, wanted a car), but when I looked up prices online at this location and several others, this location was the cheapest by a little over $1,000.
