2020 CRV EX How to access the factory amp

Hello,

I recently purchased a 2020 CRV EX and I am trying to upgrade the front/rear speakers with aftermarket speakers and add a slim form factor sub/amp combo that I had from a previous vehicle.

I purchased an AudioControl LC7i 6 Channel Line out converter and an Alpine KTP-445U Power Pack from Crutchfield, links are below.

Per Crutchfield's tech support, I was going to cut the front/rear left/right speaker output cables from the factory amp wiring harness to run into the high-level speaker inputs of the Line out Converter and then use the Alpine KTP-445U to tap into the cut speaker outputs from the wiring harness to use the factory audio speaker wiring that's already in place.

I was provided the factory amp speaker output wiring diagram from Crutchfield so I know which wires I need to tap into.

I just don't know how to go about accessing the factory amp located below the gear shifter console.

If anyone has any input on how to go about it, I would greatly appreciate it.

Welcome! Note - I would never cut factory harness wires. They are expensive and hard to get. I'd get Crutchfield to make me up a custom plug and play cable instead. It would cost a little, but less than replacing factory harnessing. Just my two cents.
Hey, kloker, I'll check with Crutchfield to see if they can create a custom wiring harness so I don't need to cut the factory harness.
I appreciate your input.

Thanks!

Unfortunately, Crutchfield does not have a factory amp bypass wiring harness at the moment since my CR-V EX is too new. I think I found another option, see the YouTube link below.

Joying JY-HO123N4GS Android 8.1.0 Plug And Play Car Entertainment System

It is a replacement head unit that looks very similar to the 2020 EX head unit, however, this replacement head unit has the RCA outputs for a 4 channel amp and a sub. Also, from the YouTube video, it seems to have all the correct types of connections for the factory harnesses, however, in the video the owner is upgrading from an LX head unit which does not have a factory amp. So I think I'm back to square one...
Dangit! Well, If you can get an accessory harness with t he right plugs you could hack that up instead, but I guess maybe too new for that too. Why can't they just make new cars a year later so that, by the time they come out, they're already a year old and stuff is - wait ... never mind.
I might have found a solution to bypassing the factory amp on my 2020 CR-V EX, there is a DSP with a factory amp bypass wiring harness made by Axxess AXDSPX-HN3. It is pricey at $409, but it's the only solution that I have found so far without having to run new speaker wire to my aftermarket speakers.

It seems the site above is the only site that I have been able to purchase it from, however, it is on backorder at the moment. I was able to purchase the AXDSPX-HN3 locally and I'm going to attempt to do the install this weekend. I'll let you all know how it goes.

I am waiting for it to install the following audio components below:

I already have my Infinity Reference REF-6532ex 6-1/2 2-way speakers currently installed

Infinity BassLink Mini as my subwoofer

Alpine KTP-445U Power Pack compact amp to power front/rear speakers

I hope this helps, I feel more at ease knowing that I don't have to cut the factory wiring harness even though this option does break the bank.
