Nice idea but why would you need it? When phone is connected via USB and Android Auto it charges phone while displaying apps, Navi, phone, messages etc on console screen.
While I don't really need a wireless charging pad, I have to admit it could be convenient. The only time I plug in the phone is to use Google Maps and I rarely use that as I know where I am going. I do not plug it in every time I get into the car. Phone calls, messages, etc. work fine over bluetooth.

I have a '17 and '20 CRV and a wireless charging pad would really be nice in either one. However, since we use Apple CarPlay, it requires the USB wire no matter what, so isn't a charging pad then pointless?

The charging pad will make more sense if the next generation CR-V has wireless Android Auto or Car Play. But yeah, I agree--unless someone is riding shotgun with me, I'd have no use for a wireless charging pad since my phone goes into the center console where I routed a USB cable from the head unit (this is an '09).

Yup, now that I have enabled Apple CarPlay, the wireless charging pad seems a bit redundant, unless you have two phones, which I do. Not sure why I have 2 iPhones, but………

Got it ... thanks so much for the information. I've already signed the paperwork for the 2021 CRV EX-L (leased for 36 months) and I think I got a fair deal.

I'm a software developer (aka nerd) so I'm interested in the head unit and what's it's capable of. I've always been fearful of the Joying stuff because most cheap Android hardware is junk.

I've also discovered Honda Hack (which should work on the 2021 if it's the same as 2020?). I'm aware of the warranty concerns but I'm definitely interested in playing around with it. I just wish the head unit had a better processor and perhaps a larger screen.
If you’ve leased the car you can not change any of the electronics in the car. You must leave it stock. It’s not your car you’re technically renting it from Honda.
