2022 Back Up Light Bulbs

We just purchased a new 2022 Hybrid Touring CR-V to replace a vehicle totaled in an accident. We got lucky; there were three vehicles on the truck on their way to the dealer, and had not been posted as available for sale yet. I notice that every single bulb in the car is an LED except for the 16W back up lights. Why? Is this a regulatory issue? When ever they burn out, are there LED replacements? Thanks in advance.

Probably a cost issue.

Ti's the same for UK CR-Vs too.

I bought these - and they are superb. Granted, this is a UK seller, but I'm sure theres a slew of US-sellers who sell the same product.

Ja, haf been in Zinzinnati many times.

Don't wait. Replace your backup lights with LEDs ASAP. They are that much more improved over the OEM lights.

The wife's expen$ive European car has regular bulbs in the back-ups, too.
I never realized this. Now the question is, it it really worth changing these bulbs to LED? I have a 2022 hybrid touring a 2022 non hybrid touring.

Not to me, whatever is back there now seems fine.

That's kind of what I'm thinking. I've owned my hybrid touring for a year now and I've enjoyed every minute of it and loved every thing this CR-V is.

The difference is night and day. Probably the most cost effective upgrade that can be made to the CRV.

Yes, because when reversing in the dark, the LEDs give a much better light when also using the camera.

That's the only thing I could think of where it might make a difference.

And if you get high quality LEDs, they make a bloody big and positive difference :)

I might look into these especially now that it's getting dark so much earlier and I drive my CR-V mostly after dark in the winter.

How hard is it to change them?
Open boot (trunk)
Small panel x2
Open with small screwdriver flat bladed
See bulb mounting untwist
Change bulb

replace

repeat other side

make sure you check they are working !
That easy

if in any doubt do it
