One certainly can be added, but I would leave it to professionals that actually know CRVs inside and out. Any mistakes, and it is going to end up having to be towed to a dealer to have the immobilizer tripping reversed.
I opted to keep the dealers additional security system they put on all Honda's on their lot, as they offered it at significant discount, and they know what they are doing when they install them. If you drop a tennis ball, from about 18 inches onto any surface of the CRV... the aftermarket sensor will pick it up and trigger the CRVs main alarm system.. so I am pretty pleased with it.. which is why I opted to buy it at time of sale.
