First, let me start by saying I am not posting this to piss folks off. But I want to ask, seriously - could some of these complaints be attempts to maybe persuade Honda to shell out some sort of compensation for real or imagined issues so that another vehicle could be purchased? As I stated above my intention isn't to impune(sp?) motives, but just to throw it out. Fortunately I have had none of the issues I read about in this forum on my '17 CR-V Touring. But in reading, some of these comments are pretty hardcore and frankly, to me anyway (I'm kinda old (76) and have become kinda judgemental in my old age) a little "over the top". Go ahead. Fire away. Not trying to stir the proverbial pot, but it is a thought.:Hmmmmm:

Two comments -
1 - this should have been posted in the oil dilution thread
2 - why does misspelling dilution result in a word that is an insult to those of us with the (confirmed) problem?

And to answer your question, this would be a stupid place to post something in hopes of Honda shelling out compensation, they don't care about this forum.

First, I will admit I am also 76.
When I bought the V, I anticipated this would be the last vehicle I would buy (I tend to keep for many years). I expected routine maintenance and good reliability.
Can you imagine the angst I had when these problems showed up and no one would acknowledge it. I produced good facts - ignored.
I've been at this for 11 mons. and I am at the point of doing arbitration.
I also have a safety issue with the ODS (occupant detection system - passenger seat). They won't do anything about it - no DTCs thrown.
I worked for so many years fixing problems that normal testing wouldn't reveal, I get disgusted with Honda service the way they put on the brakes and declare 'no DTC' and quit.
They even brought in the district 'Rep' to look at mine a couple of weeks ago. What a joke! I wasn't allowed to talk to him, but I got his comments recorded. Evidence for a buyback?

What you see on this forum is a lot of emotions, and some facts. Honda doesn't care about anything posted here.

There was another forum member a while back that had no problems and similar attitude. That quickly changed to empathy when he started having the OD problem.

You are in TX. You will probably be way down on the list for the 'fix'. There is a chance you will have the problem after the fix - several others have. Will you still call it a 'dilusion' then?

If is was that simple, we "complainers" would all have new cars or buy backs by now or be rich. LOL. Heck Honda, has difficulty just willing to put a simple SW update on a car's ECU. Or any system failure in my experience. I had to fight to just get a TSB on a Touring headlight system failure. . And still running on the original head-unit SW from 2017. Some have had to go to fight in arbitration just for that "fix" SW update. Ridiculous, in my view.

My Iphone, Apple watch, Homepod, Phillips Hue lighting, Exobee, just to name a few, do these types of updates all these time without forums or trips to the companies asking for help. Most are automatic, just like the Telsa owners get.

I pretty much knew this would stir things up. I guess it did. There just seems to be more deviousness around these days. As to why I didn't post this someplace else, I though I had it in the right place. Misspelling "dilution, well, I won't admit to being a poor speller, but my attempt to spell it wasn't intended. Guess the Gonzales ISD is to blame for that, and twenty-two years in the Navy didn't help me any either. For info, I have been driving Honda's ever since 1988. Accords and Pilots, and now CR-V. Never had a bad one. Holmes out.

Another conspiracy theory, after the China, Canada and USA "recalls"?
Why can't those that don't have the problem accept those that do?
Yeah, it is amazing that wanting your car fixed under warranty is now considered a conspiracy and some deviousness on our part.

It is was not so crazy, it would actually be funny. On 2nd thoughts, it actually is - kind of in a crazy way. LOL

Bob, I’m sure you’ve been around long enough to know that overfilling an engine is bad. The gas added to the oil is overfilling it and it smells like a damn lawn mower. I just want my car to work and last. I think that’s what 99% of us want. I’d rather not get rid of it.

Why do we have yet ANOTHER oil dilution thread?

There is a place for this discussion.

Yep, despite the moderators combining OD threads to keep things organized, we only have 4 OD related threads actively running at the moment, we need a few more to keep people happy.
