The AC in our 2011 2WD CR-V works fine much of the time. But sometimes it quits blowing cold air and blows warm air from the outside. Local shop checked "freon" and put leak detector fluid in - found nothing. With recharge, it's working better - colder. But still quits while driving and blows ambient air into the cabin. Shop cannot figure it out.

Any ideas?

I've replaced this a couple of times. Most places will only sell you the whole compressor. Make sure you check which compressor you have and you can find the clutch on eBay or Amazon. A good pair of snap ring pliers is crucial to take out existing clutch but overall it's a easy job.
Thanks for the note!

Try the relay first as from previous messages. I keep a spare in mine as they do go from time to time and it is not expensive. If problem persists you can change the compressor clutch. I found that mine would intermittently come off and on then finally it didn't work at all. If you have to do the clutch there is a youtube video on how to do it.

I bought a new relay. Will put it in today. Should be warm this week so we can test the AC. If that don't fix it, I will dig into the compressor clutch. I appreciate y'all helping me out!
