Has anyone found a way to hook a gps into the information system so that the backup screen shows the route? I don't own a smart phone nor want one but hate the wires hanging from the dash.

I'm with you on the no smartphone thing just to get GPS up on the screen.
Bought a Garmin 57 5 inch GPS and put a plastic disc in front of the top display so I can suction mount it in front of the display.
Guess what? my passenger can actually look for POI's while the car is moving!! Maybe this is the best way after all.
I bought the 5 inch model but think that the 6 inch one would fit. It doesn't stick out like a windshield mounted one so you can't see it unless you are looking in from the side window. Lifetime map updates and much cheaper than buying a map update for my other cars factory installed GPS's.

Thanks Guerinkeywest. I have a GPS but never thought about sticking it there. It is better than having to hook up a phone etc every time I get in the car.
