Ywaine Spiner spends about $350 a month on gasoline.

So as soon as he heard of a way to get free gas by turning his white truck into a rolling billboard, he signed up.

He contacted FreeGasHelp.com, a San Diego-based company that hooks advertisers up with drivers willing to dress their cars with ads in exchange for free gas. The company started in California but is rolling out nationwide, including in Houston.

Spiner is one of five in a pilot program launched locally in May. The company plans to officially launch here this summer.

"I signed up because it sounded like a good deal and there really wasn't much to it," Spiner, 41, said.

Why not? Buses are plastered with advertisements. People wear clothing with company names. (They don't get paid for that unless they are athletes.) But why not sell space on your vehicle? That may even improve the looks of some of them. :D
