I'm about to begin installing a new navigation receiver and backup camera in my 2008 Honda CR-V EX. Before I start I would appreciate any tips or guidance on running the video wire from the backup camera on my license plate to the receiver in the dashboard.

What's the easiest way to do this?

Are there any online instructions or videos? I have found instructions for installing the receiver, but have not been able to find any for running the wire from the back camera.

I did this last week (sorry no pictures).

Remove the plastic trim from the rear hood. I have cut away the old camera. Placed the new camera and ran the wiring through the rubber at the hinges on the left side. I wanted to avoid getting stuck at the glass roof so I ran the wiring down to the doorsteps and plastic panel near the seatbelt (remove the doorrubber and there is a easy acces). Below the dash there is enough room to get it through. this part speaks for itself

The only problem I ran into is that I can't get any image on my headunit (pioneer camera and avic F9770bt headunit). Reversing positive and negative doesn't work. I can only get a black screen when I put it in reverse.

Any updates on this guys?
I'd like to find and install an oem Nav head unit with oem back up system into my daughter's 08.
Isn't all of the wiring harness already in place for both an oem head unit and oem rear camera?

I don't know about that. i already had an OEM system before replacing. I'm sure you are better of with a aftermarket system. They are far cheaper and more up to date than the original

Motil, did you just run video? How did you power the cam and how did you run a "trigger" wire" to the head unit?

I have to come back to you on that. I tapped in on the original wiring for the + and groundwire. I ran all three wires from the boot to the headunit. It does trigger when I change to reverse but still no visuals on my screen. The supplier thinks the camera is broke. I have to remove everything and send it back When I have the time I will, but it will not be this weekend.

Motil, were you able to get your camera working? You mentioned you cut the old camera...is it still installed, or did you remove it from the vehicle? If you removed it, does the new camera fit in the OEM location?
