Doesn't matter whether he is a troll or not, there is an existing OD thread where he can post his issue. We don't need ANOTHER OD thread clogging up the main page. Simple as that.
This is not at all the same issue. He did not say he had OD, did he?

About 3 months after the oil dilution fix and oil level alert came on and the engine died on the highway causing an accident. This will be my last honda I ever own.
It sounds like he may have had NO oil.

It sounds like he may have had NO oil.

He's blaming it on the oil dilution fix, is he not? Otherwise, he would not have put it in the title.

BTW here are some of his other posts:

"2017 model crv is a joke. It's basically a 15k car in a 30k wrapper and the quality is much poorer than previous years."

"The new model is a bit of a flub. The performance is good, but not much else. The CVT bounces around like crazy when changing from D to R and vise versa, like the boat is rocking. Idle vibration is enough to say no. Poor gas mileage under 5mi trips is devastating. Seat comfort is silly. And the fact the muffler pipes are highly visible is a joke. A new rav4 model is coming if you can wait. Otherwise, steer clear."

BTW, there is a reason the 'Problems and Issues' forum exist. For threads like these.

And I question the OP who continues to drive a vehicle he has had so many problems over the years. Seriously, save yourself some stress and get rid of it while it's still under warranty.

I have to agree this guy is a joke and I'll bet none of it ever happened.

This forum is not very organized, as I'm sure you're aware. If you look at the forum under that one, you'll see Recalls, TSB's and Notices, yet there is a Sticky in the Gen 5 forum addressing TSB's. Then there's Shoppin' and Test Drivin' where you're supposed to post your purchase questions. Again, there's a Sticky in the gen 5 forum addressing that. So, you telling the OP to post his issue in the incognito Problems forum, only serves the purpose of those not liking what they read. It's basically a place where posts go to die.

No kidding, complaining that the mufflers are 'highly visible'. Wow, who cares? What I've learned over time is there are just some people that love complaining. That's all they do. When I lived in a condo my complex had a Facebook group with home owners and there were always the same 3 people who complained about EVERYTHING. Complaining about too many cats, complaining about HOA spending money on landscaping but not on private security and re-doing all the car ports(which would cost a massive amount of $$$), noise a few kids made every summer. EVERYTHING. They live for this kind of stuff.

Well let's see.

Is there anything saying an engine will shut off simply due to low oil level? That would be a first. Likely vehicle was continued to be driven with low oil level and engine stopped. So was a user error there. There would have been multiple warnings that something was wrong with the oil pressure before engine shut down. Strike one

Person had these warnings and instead of pulling over and shutting the engine off, they kept going. Strike 2

Person kept going at the risk of others on the road in less than ideal traffic conditions not leaving themselves an option to get out of the way safely before causing an accident. And not handling the situation correctly resulted in an accident. Strike 3

Ya something was wrong that was BS and shouldn't have been with their CRV. Cause unknown at this time.

But person's failed basic knowledge of operating a motor vehicle on the road is what led to the accident. Cars don't just die and come to an instant dead stop on the road (well most of the time, there are that rare occasion where brakes lock, transmission/transfer case can break internally causing a sudden stop). So they failed to handle the situation correctly in multiple occasions.

We already know the latest versions of CRVs have more problems than a windows computer. But this crap of blaming objects for a person's ignorance and lack of common Sense is so ridiculous and a sad epidemic.

Related: Has anyone paid the dealer to apply Honda's fix to the dilution problem. I don't live in an area where Honda will provide the fix free, but I would be willing to pay a reasonable amount to have it done.

I'm not taking side.
I'm not interesting poke fun at anyone.
I am only interesting in how it had happened, OP.
Can you please elaborate it a bit?

With "oil dilution" fix 3 months prior, what has happened during that period of time?
Right before leading to the accident. What was happening? Any sign?
Was the engine just simple stopped and the vehicle was still rolling? or
Was the vehicle coming to stop suddenly like applying hard brake?
You got rear-ended or not?
Was your local news aware of this issue?

100% a Troll. I looked at his posts and he has complained about everything on his vehicle. He is 5'9" and says he is constantly hitting his head on the roof while driving. I am over 6ft and never hit my head. He hated the new car smell in his vehicle when he first bought it so he decided to carry a bag of Trash in it to drop off at a dumpster:confused2:. The list goes on from uncomfortable seats to numerous vibrations and sounds, MPG etc. The funny part is he claimed he never went to a dealer to buy the Vehicle, instead he seemed to have had it delivered.

As for his driving skills he claims his wife is "a Spaz" and she needs all the electronic driver assistance she can get. Please if that is the case for the you and your wife and daughter, don't drive on the roads. An engine shutdown should never cause and accident unless the driver does not know how to drive.

More info needed

Any symptoms or warning signs of sounds before the shutdown?

Exactly what happened? Sequence of events?

We all drive every day in road conditions and among drivers where a sudden loss of power and our reaction to such events would be a severe challenge and would lead to a probable accident. So lets wait to blame the driver until we have lots more detail on what happened before and during the accident.

On the highway??? Do you have any proof for your never statement?

If you lose engine power, you may lose power braking and steering unless you have an air tank or electric pumps to server them.

Do you think every driver involved in big pile ups did not know to drive?

Myself and many drivers I have known have had engine break downs on the Highway and we all managed to get to the soft shoulder without an issue. I don't know if your flaying up your hands in a panic when this happens but for me it just means flick on the indicator look for an opening and start going over to the side. From 60+ miles an hour you got plenty of time.

If engine shut downs meant automatic accidents we would have hundreds of them each day in every state.

Sudden engine failure can be very dangerous on a highway.
