Here is the story:

Cruising at highway speed, I hear a 'bang' most likely coming from under the hood. Immediately:

- engine light
- VSA light
- The ! light in the little triangle

I immediately reduce speed, engine temp normal. About a minute later:

- battery light

I continue to drive, but half speed and engine seems normal. Mild acceleration OK, BUT... when I kick it expecting a downshift, the vehicle goes into a wild cyclical jerking ride.

I am thinking electrical issue??

Thanks in advance, folks.

BTW, -20C here today, but the cold weather should't have anything to do with this.

Did you open the hood and look at the belts? What year is the CRV?
A voltage drop can cause those symptoms.(ie:alternator not working due to failure or belt problem could be one cause)
