I recently went on vacation and let my roommate use my car to go to work while I was gone. He drove it several days, then called me and said that the car wouldn't start and an alarm was going off when he tried to start it.

I'm back now and noticed a red light blinking over the radio. I've tried to start the car and found it is an anti-theft device that preventing the starting. There is no sign of attempted break-in or anything else.

I'm not sure whether the device is factory or was added.

Is there anyway I can reset the device or disable it to get the car to start?

Thanks for any help.

What year is your crv?

Ask your roommate for the details. Why did the alarm go off? How did he get it to stop? How long did the alarm go for?

The battery could be discharged. Try jump starting it or get the battery checked.

Try a different key / change its battery.

I'm guessing here but disconnect the battery (negative/black terminal) for an hour then connect again and try.

Call Honda and ask them.

Good luck.
