hi all,

i wish i had more details, but i got a call from my wife (who is the primary driver of our 2018 CR-V EXL AWD) saying she got some message on the stereo saying something about the system having lost power and the anti-theft system was down. she said she can't use her radio nor bluetooth connection.

i'm hoping i can solve this problem by rebooting the head unit for her (i assume just holding the power button the radio should work), but i'm wondering if others have seen this problem and if there is something else lurking behind the scenes.

we already had the factory battery replaced last year when it died prematurely, but i wonder if this is another battery issue?

thanks for any thoughts/experiences.

The message has the instruction to hold down the volumn button for 2 secs. to re-enable the audio system due to a power loss. While this message occurs any time power is lost, there's a bug in the system and it occurs randomly even when there is no power loss. The message also has a caveat that says if it happens frequently see your dealer. Just more features from the wonderful world of Honda's electronics.
thanks for the prompt reply. does it lose all of the radio settings (like phone pairing and CarPlay)?

this is really helpful as i need to dive into this tonight for non-technically inclined wife among a million other "honey do" list items...

following up, Traylaw's suggestion was spot on. my wife didn't understand that the message meant the power button on the radio, as opposed to the "main power button" which starts the car.

hopefully, this is a once in a blue moon anomaly and not another bad battery or something else lurking.
