As a loyal Honda customer, I'm considering a CR-V as one of my buying options.

I see an Accord 2.0T but don't quite understand why there's no 2.0T option for a CR-V, given that the V6 engine has disappeared for likely mileage efficiency reasons.

Thoughts please Honda, can we expect a 2.0T CR-V option in the near horizon? Anyone else care to comment please? Thanks!

:)

It's "Mo' Money" but the Acura RDX is a CR-V with a 2.0L turbo...

The Accords have a 2.0T option because they have a history of offering Sport/Performance versions of the platform, which used to have V6's (now replaced with the new 2.0T). The midsize car market is extremely competitive, so I can see why Honda offers some sportier, though pricier, versions of the platform. And suddenly removing the sport/performance variants of the Accord would be Honda shooting themselves in the foot.

I doubt we will ever see a Sport/Performance version of the CRV.. which would trigger use of a 2.0T... but.. you never know. CRV has a very notable and consistent market share in this market, a market segment that continues to grow. I'm sure if all the competition moves to offering sport/performance versions of compact SUVs Honda will respond, but until then.. I don't see them offering a 2.0T.

Also, keep in mind.. the CRV is a Civic at it's core.. not an Accord.

The next door neighbor drives a Lincoln MKC with the 2.0L Ecoboost......and it hauls A__! A sporty/quicker CRV would be nice. The trade-off would be fuel economy. The neighbor's MKC get 7-8 mpg less than our CRV just farting around town.

They now even put that engine in the new Transit Connect compact van. Not for Socialist Europe tho, unfortunately.
