Are there any 2016 CR-V mods?

Earlier this year I bought my mom's honda CR-V off of her lease, it was a good deal and super low mileage(I also didn't really have a choice, this was the only car they "approved of"). Being a gear head I hate to leave it stock, I want to do something to the car but not hurt it also. I understand a 2016 crv isn't the best platform for modifications but if anyone out there has any ideas how a high schooler could make his CR-V a little faster or make it a litter more enjoyable to drive please let me know. (BTW I have the LX model)

Faster? Not really.
Enjoyable to drive? Depends on what you enjoy.

Maybe some alloy wheels to replace the steel wheels, and window tinting.
Add fog lights and splash guards.
And maybe a tailgate spoiler.
A hood deflector and window deflectors.
And maybe Katzkin leather seat covers and a leather steering wheel cover.

Mods to make better than factory or Mods for your unique region / driving conditions?

For my wife's 2014 CRV, I did 2 mod areas (due to weak factory build).

re:

- Front lighting improvement:
- Replaced its front H4 Halogen main light bulbs with H4 LED bulbs.
- Replaced its front H11 halogen FOG light bulbs with H11 LED bulbs.
- Wired its front fogs to be on (or off) with its front High Beams.
- If needed, buy/install Fog Light Assemblies and use simple wiring install (to enable them).
For more details, surf: https://www.crvownersclub.com/threads/fog-light-mod-simple-version.198119/

- Raised its factory "old age" sagged suspension via low cost lift kit using simple spacer blocks (that go above struts / coil springs). I used 20 mm blocks in front and rear. Next time, I would install 20 mm on the front and 30 mm on its rear. If good with a wrench, this is a very simple "on the driveway" DIY upgrade. For more details, surf Amazon / Ebay and search for: "Lift kit increasing ground clearance HONDA CR-V 2007-2017". If wondering, 20 mm = 1.25" height increase due to its A-Arm geometry support points.
Notes:
  • Get a professional 4 x wheel alignment after lift kit install as well. This will save expensive tire wear.
  • I recommend this upgrade for all deep snow regions / like my north region. Not needed for no snow depth winter regions.
Install a front RAM (aka: Bull bar). Do some internet Google searches and I'm sure a few auto shops in your area can order / install it. If wondering, my wife's CRV was bought with a Bull Bar and we love it.

This work for my wife's 2014 CRV. If liked, these same mods can be applied to your new 2016 CRV as well.

Your wife’s CRV sounds pretty nice. Post some pics when you get a chance. I’d also like to see what the new bulbs look like.

Hi Coastie05,

Picture of my wife's 2014 CRV EX-L BEFORE its 1.5" suspension lift is attached (below). As seen, it has the front bumper Bull Bar. She calls it her "push bar" (LOL!). And yes, she's already proved several times that it does work (Ouch!).

Not too sure if pictures of its upgraded lights (to LED) has any value. re: Before and after picture is same vehicle but the LED lights are brighter. And, they don't have a yellowish tint - like Halogen bulbs do. After installing LED lights, always adjust their aim. Many folks don't adjust their aim and get flashed at.

What is your definition of "a little" faster?......shorter tires will instantly improve acceleration from a stop. Lowering the V with suspension components will improve cornering/handling. We are talking on a closed track, not on public streets, right?

I love the idea of the Katzkin leather seat covers, definitely might look into those

Who's supposed to be the receiving end of that push bar?
