My CR-V seems to be doing well except for one thing. When I set the auto headlamp timer to, say, 60 seconds, the system replies that it has been changed, but when I shut the car off, the headlights turn off immediately. I've tried each of the settings, OFF, 15, 30 , and 60 seconds, but it makes no difference.

Does anyone else have the delay set to on and is it working for you?

As a side note, I thought that rebooting the head unit might clear up the problem, but I wasn't successful in doing this. On the 2016 Civic Touring, you can touch and hold the Audio button (top, left button) for about 15 seconds and it will come up and ask if you want to reboot the system. I tried the same thing with the Audio button in the CR-V (middle, left button) and that did nothing. I tried again with the Home button (top, left button) and that brought up Task Manager for the system. Interesting, but not helpful to my situation.

I'm on the phone to Customer Support now to see what they can tell me, but I'm not too hopeful based on the agent's responses to my questions so far. <Sigh>

I, too, went out and played with the CR-V after work and found that the volume knob also functions as the power on/off for the stereo, so I held it and it asked if I wanted to reboot. I did so and then set the headlights to 60 seconds again, even though they were already set there and tried everything out again. Still no go. I did confirm, several times that the headlight switch was in Auto, but to no avail.

I'm thinking that next, I'll simply reboot the entire vehicle by disconnecting the battery for a bit. If that doesn't work then I'll guess that I'll have to take it to the dealership for a check.

Okay, on Sunday, I rebooted the entire car--disconnected the battery's negative terminal and let it sit for about 5 minutes before reconnecting--and that took care of the problem. From what happened, it appears that the headlight module was not communicating with the rest of the system. After rebooting, the headlights would delay the appropriate amount of time after shutting the engine off, I went from 3 options under the Vehicle->Lighting settings to 6 options, and the symbol for auto brightening and dimming of the headlights came on and stayed on.

A more senior customer service rep from Honda did call me on Monday and I explained to him what had happened, what I did to fix it, and what the results were. He seemed to be very interested and said that he would report it to engineering in case more of the same issue came up. It was nice to know that Honda's got my back!
