I have a 2018 EX-L with only 3500 kms on it. Lately, the back hatch will not always open either with the remote or with a direct 1 second push on the longer of the two buttons on the underside of the trim strip. The motor starts and growls but the door does not lift.....(I can lift it manually as high as wanted and it will "hang" there). After several tries on the button or remote, then the door will open normally. This is a little frustrating and frankly I would rather have a manual door anyway since the noise of operating the electric hatch freaks out our Labrador. Am I doing something wrong or should I complain to the dealer? Thanks

Our '16 Pilot's gate refused to open once - when picking up some friends at the airport, no less.

Immediately took it to the dealer and they could not get it to open either.

Scheduled an appointment to have it 'fixed' for two days later but the next day it worked and never had the issue again (traded it in March of this year).

Hope your gate issue goes away...
