Greetings to the forum!

I am intending to put a roof rack on my 2013 cr-v. It's a bare roof. I like the solid look and feel of the brand name racks, like the Yakima and Thule systems but I like the price of systems offered on Amazon. Brand name systems cost about $400 while Amazon system are $80-100. I expect to use the system of choice 1-2 times a year for camping gear. Comments? Many thanks!

If you can afford it, put a lot of thought into how and what you will be using it for, and then spring for the system you like the most that fills those requirements. If you settle for less than you want, you will always remember that you settled for less than you wanted.

Exactly. If your only putting 20-30 lbs up there rarely then cheap will work. If you want something that actually works as it should and will hold up for as long as you own the car, spend the extra money.
